Mortuary Science: Restorative Art / Restoration / Demisurgery / Embalming
I have no idea why, but lately I’ve been really interested in getting my B.S. in Mortuary Science. The whole aspect seems really intriguing to me, from learning the chemistry composition of the materials used, to learning more about human anatomy and physiology, to restorative art. I can’t explain why I want to do this, but I do.
I’m just scared, because I haven’t been in school in years. There are a lot of prerequisite classes required before I can transfer to Wayne State University. I guess I’m just worried that I’ll get in over my head with all the course work I’ll have to do. Then again, when I was in cosmetology school, I did pretty good on my tests - especially chemistry, anatomy, and biology. I like doing hair and makeup, but I feel like I need more of a challenge. I feel like I need to give my brain a bigger challenge. I’m afraid that if I just stick with cosmetology, I’ll get too bored because there won’t be a big enough challenge for me. That’s how I’ve always felt throughout school, it’s weird.
I just wish that there was another school that offered a mortuary science course here in Michigan, but the only university is Wayne State, which is on the other side of the glove - in Detroit. I hate Detroit, and I’d rather NOT move there for 4 years.
Jesse and I both LOVE the south, and I think we both would really love living there. It’d be nice to be closer to my dad and my little brother, too. So perhaps I can find a university down south that offers mortuary science.
Look at me go with my enormous post about mortuary science… *sigh* Ok, I’ll stop now. Haha!
